St. Luke's Junior Youth Group (JYG)/Rite 13

Mission: To strive to enrich the lives of our youth through: sharing of God's Holy Word, open and honest discussion, observation and example, community and church ministry, and fun activities.

JYG serves children from grades 5-6 as of September of any given year.
Rite 13 serves chilren in grade 7-9 as of September of any given year.

JYG Curriculum: Serendipity Leaders' Guide - Each Leader will have a guide to assist them with planning their meeting.  The book provides a number of topics and lessons that will provide excellent material for discussion. Each meeting must include the readings related to the topic or the leader can use the Lessons and Gospel for that Sunday.

Rite 13 Curriculum:  The Rite 13 program has been purchased from LeaderResources.  Lessons are taken directly from the Rite 13 Group Leaders' Guide.  This 1 1/2 year program is designed to build self-esteem in the context of the Christian community.  At the end of the program, the members will be ready to be confirmed.  Lay leaders, clergy, and the congregation at large must work together to establish a framework for friendships which bridge gender stereotypes.
