St. Luke's Youth Group- Rite 13

Mission: To strive to enrich the lives of our youth through: sharing of God's Holy Word, open and honest discussion, observation and example, community and church ministry, and fun activities.

Rite 13 Curriculum:  The Rite 13 program is meant for youth in grades 6-7 in the first year and 7-8 in the second year. The program is developed by LeaderResources, and it touches upon increasing and learning from our understanding of the "4 S's": Spirituality, Society, Sexuality and Self. The Rite 13 group focuses on increasing communication between youth and other youth whom they trust as they enter a difficult period in which they turn to one another more than to parents. Lessons are taken directly from the Rite 13 Group Leaders' Guide.  This 2 year program is designed to build self-esteem in the context of the Christian community.  At the end of the program, the youth will be ready to begin confirmation preparation, which is an ongoing two-year class. Lay leaders, clergy, and the congregation all work together to support our youth in their spiritual development.
