St. Luke's Food Pantry

"Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Mt. 25:37-40)

Our Pantry is an outreach ministry that is one of both need and hospitality. Christ told us to feed and help those in need, for when we help our sister or brother, we help Jesus.

St. Luke's Pantry has been in operation for over 10 years, and it has been a mainstay in this area helping adults and children and families through tough times. Our passion for this ministry has thrived through parishioner donations and the consistency of volunteers.

Pantry Operation:

The Pantry is open on the 2nd and 4th MONDAYS, from 11am-1pm.

The food we distribute is purchased by us from NORWESCAP, then packed in bags and handed out according to the number of families. Guests must register, but the process is simple and only occurs the first time you come.

Whether you are facing a new need or an ongoing need, please come to St. Luke's pantry on the 2nd and 4th Mondays, where food, smiles and compassion await you.

To access the pantry, you enter from the back of the church, which is down the slope. The rear entrance goes into the hall, which is where we distribute our food.

Volunteering:

We can use help distibuting food, picking up food and bringing bags.

Distribution: We gather around 9am to begin packing bags and stay from 11-1pm for the distribution.

Pickup: In addition to the food distribution on Mondays, volunteers are also needed to pick up the food from NORWESCAP on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Bags: Please help by bringing in plastic bags (please double bag them prior to bringing them in, which saves time.)

To sign up to volunteer, please speak to Jeanne Merryman.
