St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Phillipsburg, New Jersey
A parish family that WORSHIPS God, CARES for one another and HELPS those in need in the community and beyond

The diocese is the principle "building block" of The Episcopal Church (TEC). By that, we mean that individual churches are part of a "bigger whole," namely the diocese, each with a Bishop. There are 100 dioceses in the United States.

Our Diocese of Newark comprises 107 churches and missions in roughly the  northern third of NJ. Our Diocesan Bishop is the Rt. Rev. Mark Beckwith, and he was consecrated on Jan. 27, 2007 in Newark. The Episcopal Church, of which we are a proud member, is an international body, with ten dioceses in other countries or outlying U.S. territories, such as Haiti and the Dominican Republic and the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe, which is basically structured like a diocese. Most of our churches are in the contininental U.S.A.

Our diocese has international recognition as one of excellence, welcoming ALL people as they are into our community of faith. The richness of our diversity in age, gender, beliefs, sexual orientation, nationalities, etc. reflect the diverse image of God in which we are created.

ALL people are welcome as they are in the body of Christ that is the Episcopal Church.
